Our staff
We are very proud of our professional and caring staff and are accredited by Investors In People.

All staff are trained both in-house and in more specialist areas by accredited organisations. New members of staff are trained to an approved specification based on NVQ level 2 in Care.
For those staff wishing to attain further qualifications, we offer the City and Guilds NVQ courses and these are conducted at Albany House. We believe that only by continual appraisal of performance can we maintain the high quality care that we pride ourselves on.

Our aims and objectives
Our over-riding aim is to have a home where residents can live their lives, as far as possible, as if they were in their own homes. By providing a safe environmant with support and stimulation, we aim to maximise residents' potential to live full lives.
The basic underlying principles by which we work are:
Privacy will be offered to residents and their visitors at all times. Residents are free to eat their meals in their own rooms if they wish and staff will obtain permission from the resident before entering a bedroom. Staff will ensure that personal care tasks are conducted in privacy. Facilities to make telephone calls in private are available.
Dignity. All residents will be treated with dignity and respected for their individual qualities. Staff will use the mode of address preferred by residents.
Independence will be fostered at every opportunity and residents will only be offered assistance when they are unable or unwilling to complete a task themselves. Appropriate professional advice and assictance will be made available to residents wishing to conduct their own financial affairs. The building and equipment, furniture and fittings will be chosen or designed to allow residents to live their lives with a minimum of risk and staff intervention. The staff will encourage and facilitate mobility both in and out of the home.
Choice. Residents will, wherever possible, be able to make decisions that affect their lives and choose how they spend their time from day to day. Individuals will be able to express and pursue religious and political beliefs.
